Santai means to relax, unhurried. Mama Santai endeavor to create that space you need that is still relevant today. There is something for everyone, be it taking time off balancing modern resposibilities to releasing tension from daily activities.
Mama Santai massage therapy, your pillar of maternity care
Across cultures, touch and massage has been a central component of perninatal care especially during postnatal confinement (aka pantang/Wochenbett).
In Malay/Indo culture, the pantang period of traditionally 40 days of rest and keeping the body warm is crucial. Mama gets nutritious warm food of fish and vegetables and drinks jamu (herbal medicine drink), all with lots of ginger and turmeric. Postpartum massage assist to achieve this by improving blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. It is not uncommon for new mothers to receive 1 to 2 weeks of daily massage right after the birth. Bengkung (belly wrap) is a usual component after the massage to boost the recovery of the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles.

This is FOR EVERYONE! Going back to basics, this blend from Swedish massage is a stimulating and uplifting massage with deep kneading and percussion techniques . At the same time, the long, gentle strokes aids lymphatic drainage and melts tension which might also leave you snoozing by the end of it!

From second trimester on, soothe the body that is working harder. Especially helpful for reducing fluid retention and balancing hormones. Take time for yourself before the family gets bigger.

It can be done with baby by your side. If you can get someone to look after your baby for this precious hour, even better! Aids in milk production and restoring uterus size. No waiting time for normal births, and about 4-6 weeks after caesarian births.

About me
Hi Mamas and friends! I am Nadia and a CIBTAC certified therapist trained in Bali. I was born in Singapore and currently living with my family with 2 children in Munich, Germany.
After birthing our firstborn daughter in Bali, I had 4 weeks of daily postpartum massage. My kind therapist, Ibu Ayu, nursed me back to strength physically with her massage and emotionally with her presence.
When I could not find a similar massage service for my second baby in Munich, we were connected to our lovely doula, Danielle. She gave me light foot massages and was a big comforting support.
My passion is to bring postpartum practices from my Malay Indo heritage and hold a real space for you in this raw journey of motherhood.

A couple of pillows to make you comfortable and a towel or two is all we need. Please do not feel any need to tidy up your home at all, after all this is time for YOU!

Pregnancy massage starts from the second trimester on.
Post natal massage can begin right after normal delivery. For caesarean surgeries, about 4 weeks after the birth, or after you heal and able to lie on your belly.
